Today « FRANCE TANNERIES » makes its mark on the historical site of Châteauneuf-sur-Sarthe and perpetuates the tradition and craftsmanship in leather tanning.

Fresh ambitions and new investments in production facilities enable the company to guarantee product quality and continued innovation in research and development. Our priority is to improve customer satisfaction and commit to investing in a sustainable development approach.

« FRANCE TANNERIES » is a member of the local "du Bellay Network" which includes 17 manufacturing companies in and around the city of Angers, all catering for the luxury goods industry.

HISTORY

Now in the hands of new shareholders, « FRANCE TANNERIES » follows in the footsteps of the Sueur and Dupire tanneries.

A few key dates:

• 1863 « Dupire Tannery » is established in Wasquehal, near Lille
  
  1873 : « Sueur Tannery » is established in the Paris suburb of Bagneux, specialising in the production of leather for the footwear industry
• 1965 « Sueur Tannery » moves to Châteauneuf-sur-Sarthe (near the châteaux of the Loire Valley)
• 1989 « Sueur Tannery » closes
• 1990 « Dupire Tannery » moves to the former Sueur Tannery facilities in Châteauneuf-sur-Sarthe
• 2010 « Dupire Tannery » develops a new strategy targeting high-end French leather goods and international luxury brands
• 2016 "Dupire Tannery" changes ownership and becomes «FRANCE TANNERIES»
